| S.O.S. SAVE OUR STATION !! |
|
For years now, the all volunteer staff and hosts of WorldWideBluegrass.com - have kept the station live and kickin' out the best Bluegrass music from far and near, name bands and unknown "hot" bands and we've done it all for the love of the music and to help the music industry move along, in particular the Bluegrass industry with free promotion, free everything! We hope to continue to keep the stream FREE forever!
"We've been here before, but God has always blessed us with new listeners, new donations, but now, It' time to dig deep into the change purses and see what you can come up with" says founder, Gracie Muldoon. "We don't ask for much - just a 5 or 10 dollar donation from each one of our listeners, which are many, would keep us up a year... but our donations have decreased with the ailing economy, especailly the last two years. This is the first year we haven'had a fund raising event, so we are really "smarting". " If you can hit the paypal button with a credit card or paypal account and send anything and then tell your friends to help too, then we will be able to remain "for free" to make the worldwide audiences aware of the best music bluegrass has to offer - right here at WorldWideBluegrass.com! "I've decided to make the person who makes the biggest donation to the WWB - recognized on the front page at the beginning of October. So if you have a little extra to throw our way - you will be the featured pictures on our home page in October - as the biggest contributor to the station!" We wanna show you that we appreciate you in our (what could be final) struggle and the music's free stream to survive ! What better way to say thanks but to put your MUG on our home page! The fund raising effort will continue on til Nov 1, 2011!
We need everyone to participate in our fall fund drive this year. Royalties, and bandwidth costs have increased significantly for the station and the station is in danger of going "dark".
The artists that have been "discovered" by being heard on the WWB and bluegrass friendships forged here in chat room that have resulted in new songs, new music -- have been too many to mention - but the WWB has been first to spin many of the "name" and "up and coming" bands - because of our policy of only playing WHAT's HOT!. We do not limit our djs at all in their music selection for their shows. We ask they remain 98% Bluegrass, but they may slip in an acoustic, americana or country song in for a request or to show relevancy between the music played and Bluegrass. For instance, an artist who is Bluegrass, may often include a country song on their CD and we'll spin it as a courtesy or to fill a request. Its just that we are the only TRUE bluegrass all volunteer station that has a worldwide audience - that pays royalties - and that got here - by listening to what the listeners wanted. Progressive and Traditional, hot drive and slow ballads - we have all the best right here at the WWB.
We've promoted festivals, artists, labels, special events, organizations and charities - all for FREE since we've been on the air. We've never collected a dime from our promotions - because, for us, it was all about the music and educating the world's masses, on Bluegrass music! Our stream is free to listen to - and we have the all volunteer DJs and staff that bring so much time, so much effort and preparation and so much love into the station - that we want everyone to know we're here ONLY because of their support and we come to them now because we have no other means to stay open and streaming.
WE'RE SENDING OUT AN S.O.S. SAVE OUR STATION - THIS YEAR - OR TELL SOMEONE ELSE TO BECOME INVOLVED IN SUPPORTING BLUEGRASS!
THANKS TO OUR LISTENERS AND FANS - WE LOVE YOU.
