Gentleman Jim Chatfield "Bluegrass in the BASSment"

Gentleman Jim (yes, he really is a Gentleman. It says so on his shirt!) is the resident long haired, red boots wearing, hippie grass playing DJ of the WWB. His 'Bluegrass in the BASSment' show is a favorite of the WWB line up and is guaranteed to be a good time whether you are streaming or hanging out in the chat room.

Jim is a founding member, and bass player of the New Carlisle, OH group Shadez of Blue. Jim and Isabel (his self proclaimed One Legged, Fat Bottomed Girl- bass) love to spend time traveling from jams to festivals, lending a hand (and bass) to whichever group may need one.

Like most of the WWB regulars, one of his favorite subjects is food, and if asked about his favorite things to eat he would have reply pizza and pecan pie. One would hope not at the same time however. Like the majority of bluegrass fans, his favorite movie is "Oh Brother Where Art Thou". He believes that to be considered an American, you have to have seen that movie and the movie "A Christmas Story".

Jim's musical influences range anywhere from Lynard Skinard to Buddy Rich (during his drum-playing days) to Bill Monroe and everything in between. His musical talents are quite diverse and has played everything from symphony to heavy metal. He also spent some time playing with Miller's Blackhawk Musical Corps, which earned him the title of world traveler when he was afforded the opportunity to visit places like Africa and Europe.

Like most DJs, Jim started with WWB as regular in the chat room. His friend Michelle recommended him to the site, and he soon became one of the family. When asked about how he made the decision to become a DJ, he replies, "Gracie twisted my arm til it came off and then she beat me with the bloody end of it." It only took about a year of such tender prodding for him to accept his rightful position, and the WWB was never the same again!

Jim's party atmosphere shows can be heard on "Bluegrass in the BASSment". You are guaranteed to hear good music and meet some great friends. Remember, "What happens in the in the BASSment stays in the BASSment!" Please check the Schedule for available shows, days and times.
